Sales Galore: Sharing a Hidden Gem for Year-Round Fashion
When I think of the hidden gem that I am about to share with you all in this blog, my quote definitely comes to mind: “I want to do it all IV the Leaux, without sacrificing quality.” All of the high quality and often times name brand fashion items can be found here IV the Leaux. If you want to know where to shop so that you can slay and save all year-round, keep reading. I promise that you’re going to want to write this one down and find the nearest location ASAP.
My hidden gem for fashion is the Dillard’s Clearance Center. It’s fantastic because many of the items that you would find at the Dillard’s department store, including clothing, shoes, and accessories, can be found here at greatly reduced prices. As soon as you walk into the store, you quickly become aware of the plethora of items that are now at your finger tips.
My understanding of the Dillard’s Clearance Center is that out of season, discontinued, overstocked, and/or damaged items are sent here in bulk to be sold at prices that are usually discounted to 65% off or more of the original price.
Sounds great, right? Well, it gets even better because the prices are decreased even further on holidays. Remember when I said, “I don’t shop here often?” It’s because I wait for holiday seasons when there is an additional 50% discount off of the lowest ticketed price. Therefore, you can catch me at the Dillard’s Clearance Center for New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
On a typical day at the clearance center, you can buy a pair of comfortable and stylish Gianni Bini heels that were originally priced at $130 for only $46, which is a great deal. However, if you wait until a holiday, you can purchase those same amazing heels for $23!
Similar to other clearance stores, like Ross and Marshalls, many of the items are sent to the Dillard’s Clearance Center in bulk quantities. Once you start shopping around, you will often times see 5 or more of the same item in each size. If you come across a piece that is perfect, but is the wrong size, don’t fret! It is likely that you can find it in your size, if you keep searching. This has occurred a lot during my shopping experiences here and is particularly common when I am buying shoes.
I absolutely love buying shoes from here, especially heels. As I said, the brands that you find in the regular department store are here too, but much cheaper. Because of this, there is a lot of Antonio Melani, Gianni Bini, Guess, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, and Vince Camuto heels and boots in my closet. Many of them were purchased at an average price of $20 - $30.
I don’t consider myself to be someone who is a name brand fanatic, but heels are my exception and I’ll explain why. Ladies, we know all to well the struggle of finding the perfect heel to go with our perfect outfit and then realizing that although it is very budget friendly, it is also the most uncomfortable heel ever. Sometimes, you put the heels up and continue searching and other times, you buy them anyway and pray that there is somewhere for you to sit down at the event. I personally do not want to spend time or energy hoping that I can find a seat just because I chose to wear a specific pair of show stopping heels. The brands I named above typically make comfortable heels when you buy the right size. So splurging a few times a year and going home with 3 pairs of brand new, comfortable, and affordable heels to wear during future events sounds like a great idea to me.
Enough about heels, there is so much more to browse through at the clearance center. Over the years, I have purchased multiple gowns to be worn at galas and Mardi Gras balls. I have also purchased business professional and business casual dresses designed by Calvin Klein, Lauren Ralph Lauren, and Tahari. My favorite time to buy dresses from the Dillard’s Clearance Center is when they have the Buy 1, Get 1 Free sale on Juniors and Ladies dresses. The average price of the business dresses with the sale was about $20 - $30 and the formal dresses was about $100.
I think by now, you all understand why this is such a gem. If you are not in a rush and do not mind sifting through what feels like a warehouse of affordable fashion, this is the place to go. What’s the catch? Simply stated at every store, all sales are final and no returns or exchanges can be made after purchase.
So here’s 2 tips for the beginners:
1. Try on everything and inspect each item thoroughly.
2. To find out the deals for the week at the Dillard’s Clearance Center, call the store. The automated system will list every single deal on each category, including kids apparel and men’s shoes.
